America Speaks In Numbers Too Big To Ignore

In a recent interview on ABC, Martha Raddatz scolded JD Vance for his claim that Venezuelan gangs had taken over some Aurora, Colorado, apartment complexes. She explained it was only a handful of complexes that were gang-infested. Vance countered with, when did it become acceptable that a handful of apartment complexes were plagued by Venezuelan gangs? He concluded with, Martha, do you hear yourself?
Here is where we stood on November 4, 2024:
Fewer than a quarter of Americans (23%) currently rate the country’s economic conditions as excellent or good, while 36% say they are poor, and about four in ten (41%) view conditions as “only fair.” Yet Joe Biden and his administration say the economy is better than ever. Do you hear yourself, Mr. President?
Open borders have wreaked havoc on every state in the union, as now we all live in a border state with shortages of funding for schools and housing. The Immigration Act of 1924 limited the number of immigrants allowed entry into the United States through a national origins quota. The latest estimates show 3.2 million illegal immigrants crossed our southern border in 2023 alone. Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas said the border was closed on many occasions. Do you hear yourself, Mr. Secretary?
Many Americans say reducing crime should be a top priority for the president and Congress to address this year. Around six in ten U.S. adults (58%) hold that view today, up from 47% at the beginning of Joe Biden’s presidency in 2021. According to Kamala Harris, Americans are safer now than when she took office. Do you hear yourself, Madam Vice President?
Killing babies in the third trimester was never acceptable in previous administrations. Today, it is the law in Alaska, Colorado, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Vermont, and Washington, D.C. Do you hear yourself, America?
Transgender-affirming puberty blockers and surgery on children have become an acceptable way to treat gender dysphoria. Never mind addressing the psychological effects. The U.S. currently has the most permissive laws surrounding transgender treatments for children compared to peer Western and Northern European nations. Less than a fourth of children with gender dysphoria carry it into adulthood. Yet many children in the U.S. are still eligible for irreversible therapies and surgeries. Do you hear yourself, America?
Biological boys and men competing in girls’ and women’s sports could have easily been a sitcom in the past. The American College of Sports Medicine’s key findings: Biological sex is a determinant of athletic performance: males are faster, stronger, and more powerful than females because of fundamental sex differences in anatomy and physiology dictated by sex chromosomes. Yet biological boys and men can serve volleyballs, swing bats, swim, and run races against young girls and collegiate women. Do you hear yourself, America?
Our educational system is broken, our children are not prepared to enter the workforce, and our FBI believes parents are terrorists because they question the role of public schools in their children’s lives. So, how do the above ideologies affect American education?
ECONOMY: As a teacher, I often helped my students with lunch money, finding clothing, and solving homelessness. It was becoming a major issue when I retired seven years ago. Kids going to school hungry, ill-dressed, and living out of a van are real. Parents forced to work two or three jobs to support their family often cannot be physically present when their children need them the most. This is not the American dream.
OPEN BORDERS: It is costing state educational funding anywhere from $11,000 to $28,000 per pupil to educate unaccompanied alien children. Now add the lack of ESL (English as a Second Language) teachers. Circumstances don’t allow for many public schools to offer classes for ESL learners. Instead, these illegal immigrant chldren are placed in mainstream classes, causing a downward spiral in all children’s ability to learn within the parameters of school-year expectations.
CRIME: I don’t feel safe. Not at the gas station, the grocery store, or my backyard after dark. I’ve lived a relatively crime-free life, yet fear walks beside me, attending church, large sporting events, and walking across parking lots. Just a few days ago, in my small town of 12,000 people, a woman was killed by a hit-and-run driver at our local McDonalds. Just five minutes from my house. If I feel this way, children must experience it ten times worse. As a teacher, I guided my classes through active shooter drills. At the end of each drill, my students' faces revealed their renewed fear that they might not make it home after a day at school.
ABORTION: We cannot diminish the value of one category of human life, the unborn, without diminishing the value of all human life.” — President Ronald Reagan Our children are growing up in a world where God was told to vacate public schools in 1962, life growing in the womb is insignificant, and women are not expected to be responsible for their actions or their bodies. The sanctity of life reflects the values of a nation’s people. Our children are witnessing this firsthand.
TRANSGENDER: School, at any age, guarantees drama, a feeling of ineptness, and a constant search to fit in. Adding confusing pronouns, cross-dressing attire, and the charged rhetoric of gender “fluidity,” our children can no longer concentrate on the staples of a well-rounded education. Instead, their school experience is fraught with challenges no child should have to contend with.
TRANSGENDER SPORTS: On average, compared to age-matched females at any given body weight, males have:
40- 50% greater upper limb strength
20-40% greater lower limb strength
12kg more skeletal muscle mass
I was a part of the women’s rights movement. And then, I walked with the brave women who fought for Title IX and advocated for women to compete in sports with the same benefits afforded to men. Now, we allow biological boys to dress in girls’ dressing rooms as well as young women sharing showers and toilets with biological men. Is America headed for complete moral decay? On November 4, 2024, I believe America was on the precipice of losing her moral compass.
The moral decay of civilization is best stated by Bertrand Russell: “What had happened in the great age of Greece happened again in Renaissance Italy: traditional moral restraints disappeared ... the decay of morals made Italians collectively impotent, and they fell, like the Greeks, under the domination of nations less civilized than themselves.” British historian of the last century, Arnold Toynbee, studied 26 different civilizations in his 12-volume “A Study of History.” “Civilizations declined when their leaders stopped responding creatively, and the civilizations then sank owing to the sins of nationalism, militarism, and the tyranny of a despotic minority.” Toynbee “saw history as shaped by spiritual, not economic forces.”
On November 5, 2024, America got a second chance to get it right. A government that supports irresponsible spending and giveaways, porous borders, ignores increased crime, allows the killing of babies, believes in the mutilation of children, and encourages biological men to participate in female sports cannot continue to thrive in a country built on Judeo-Christian principles. America did hear herself, and she answered with a resounding Just Stop the Madness! to the ideologies of the liberals in power.
If you have followed my blogs or podcasts, my conservative point of view didn’t just begin a few years ago. As a university student, I was elected one of the few conservative student senators during a time of intense liberal leanings. My viewpoint has not wavered, and I will never apologize for it. I’ve already cleaned out my name-calling “friends” from my social media accounts. There are only so many times I can tolerate being labeled as a fascist, Nazi, or stupid female for voting for President Trump.
If you want to cancel my right to speak, good luck! It’s already been tried. Four years ago, a former student, who was a college professor at my alma mater, attacked me on social media. She claimed to regret ever having me as a teacher because I posted a video contradicting the lies being told regarding then-candidate Donald Trump. The post was so inflamed that other former students jumped on, trying to defend my right to hold an opinion. Whereas I blocked the worst of the commentators, that did not stop a parent of another former student stating that if she knew I was a conservative, she would never have allowed her daughter to be in my class. Do you hear yourself, liberals? This denial of my right to have an opinion contrary to yours is one of the reasons I celebrate the conservative values of free speech.
My advice for the next few days is to speak softly and kindly to your liberal friends and family. Borrowing a phrase from Karl Marx, the American people, in numbers too big to ignore, removed the burden of what has been.
