What a stupid time to be alive! Not my words. Kat Timpf, a regular on the late-night hit Gutfeld!, shared the phrase a few nights ago. After the laughter subsided, I came to the painful realization her words are spot on. Why is it so painful? Because I am old enough to remember a lifetime when common sense prevailed instead crazed, secular progressive agendas. People could disagree without rage, families could meet for holidays without fighting and America held high the rule of law. Add to these dilemmas the daily struggle against plain ol’ ignorance polluting our schools, media and Washington swamp, it is truly a stupid time to be alive.

Abortion
is a right. According to the CDC, 620,327 abortions performed in the U.S. in 2020. This was the last year of reporting. (Pew Research Center)
Borders
no longer exist. Border Patrol has reported over one million migrant apprehensions in fiscal year 2023, with another six months still to go. The agency recorded 2.2 million apprehensions along the southern border in fiscal year 2022, a record high. (cbsnews.com)
Christians
should be subjugated. And they are. Christians are the most persecuted religion in the world. The persecution of Christians in parts of the world is at near "genocide" levels, according to a report ordered by Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt of the UK. (bbc.com)
Debt
can only be increased. Every president since Bill Clinton has overspent the taxpayers’ moneys averaging anywhere from a 13% debt increase (Biden administration) to an 87% increase (Obama administration) in the overall national debt. (usafacts.org)
Education
is failing. In terms of spending, the United States spends more on education per student than many other developed countries, including Japan, Germany, and France. However, the outcomes for American students in terms of test scores and graduation rates are often lower than those in countries like Finland, South Korea, and Canada. (college.us.com)
Fentanyl
cannot be stopped. Instead of finished fentanyl being shipped directly to the United States, most smuggling now takes place via Mexico. Mexican criminal groups source fentanyl, fentanyl precursors, and increasingly pre-precursors from China, and then traffic finished fentanyl from Mexico to the United States. (brookings.edu)
Girls
can become boys and boys can become girls. The U.S. sex reassignment surgery market size was valued at USD 1.9 billion in 2021 and is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.23% from 2022 to 2030. (grandviewreserarch.com)
Homeless
populations increase daily. Parks, sidewalks in metropolitan cities and even airports provide shelter for over a half million people.
Iran
may already have an atomic bomb. The country will have enough enriched uranium to make an atomic bomb in several weeks. (dw.com 2022)
Judicial system
has two tiers of justice. The majority of Americans in a new poll say there’s a two-tiered justice system in the U.S.: one for politicians and those in Washington, D.C., and one for the rest of Americans. (The Center Square)
Knowledge,
is disappearing. IQ scores have rapidly dropped. Americans’ IQ scores are trending in a downward direction. In fact, they’ve been falling for over a decade. (Popular Mechanics)
Lies
are told daily by a corrupt mainstream media. (Peter Vanderwicken, Harvard Business Review)
Marijuana
is legal in 18 states. The results of a Yahoo News/Marist national survey revealed that approximately 35 million Americans use marijuana on a monthly basis. The number of 12th graders who have used marijuana in the past year is 24%.(drugabusestatistics.org)
National Anthem
is racist. Everything about “The Star-Spangled Banner” — its lyrics, its author, and the path it took to becoming the national anthem — is inextricably bound up with America’s gruesome history of racism. Jefferson Morley, Jon Schwarz (theintercept.com) The intolerance of the National Anthem is growing exponentially. Watch:
Children’s choir stopped by capitol police while singing the National Anthem.
Opioid
deaths have quintupled since 1999. (nada.nih.gov)
Phobic
is the label placed on anyone who raises questions or concerns. The lack of a moral compass in the U.S., especially when it comes to the indoctrination of our children, concerns a record-high 50% of Americans as they rate the overall state of moral values in the U.S. as “poor” and another 37% say it is "only fair." Only 1% think the state of moral values is “excellent.” (ethicssage.com)
Quid pro quo
(a favor for a favor) is an acceptable method of play by all three branches of the U.S. government. John Roberts became chief justice in 2005. Since then, the Supreme Court has been on a campaign to legalize, normalize and, ultimately, enshrine political corruption. That sounds like it must be an exaggeration. It is not. (Larry Beinhart, aljazeera.com)
Racism
is an ineffectual blame game. It is used to justify riots, decriminalize the destruction of property, and kill in the name of social justice. It is also used to change school curricula, divide a country and openly persecute anyone who disagrees with the premise of its existence. To be sure, the U.S. must continually fight against the oppression of any race. What is the real story of race in America? Progress is the largely suppressed story of race and race relations over the past half-century. And thus it’s news that more than 40 percent of African Americans now consider themselves members of the middle class. Forty-two percent own their own homes, a figure that rises to 75 percent if we look just at black married couples. Black two-parent families earn only 13 percent less than those who are white. Almost a third of the black population lives in suburbia. (Abigail Thernstrom and Stephan Thernstro, Brookings Institute). One must ask the question: If this country is built on racist practices, why do millions of people continue to cross over our borders unabated?
Socialism
is viewed positively by 39% of U.S. adults. (victimsofcommunism.org). If you wonder how 41% of Americans approve of the president, perhaps a correlation can be drawn by almost the same amount of people who like free stuff.
Teachers’ Union
in Colorado believes capitalism is hurting the schools. This union passed a resolution declaring capitalism inherently exploits children, public schools. Capitalism is in opposition to fully addressing systemic racism (the school to prison pipeline), climate change, patriarchy, (gender and LGBTQ disparities), education inequality, and income inequality. (foxnews.com) Here’s a solution: the teachers in this union should consider not taking a salary next year as a way to support their beliefs on the corruption of capitalism.
Ukraine
is building a financial war chest. It has received $75 billion in assistance while K-12 U.S. schools nationwide received $60 billion. (cfr.org) (educationdata.org)
Violent crime
rises as police departments are defunded. Violent crime recently has been increasing in the United States. Although data from the Uniform Crime Reports are complete only though 2020, local data that now are available suggest that in many areas of the country, violent crime increases have continued into 2022. What is a woman?
That’s the question that confounded US Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson earlier this year, and it’s the same one that Matt Walsh tried to get someone – anyone – to answer in his new documentary. Whether it was a college professor, a surgeon, a counselor, or even the thousands of attendees at the National March for Women – they’d rather walk away than wrestle with this doozy of a stumper. (Jon Dykstra reformedperspective.ca)
Xenophobic
is the brand placed on anyone questioning the lack of border policies. Yet these same policies negatively impact America’s economy, schools, crime rate and institutions. A federal judge in Nevada ruled for the first time last week that a longstanding law that makes it a felony to reenter the United States after deportation is unconstitutional because it’s explicitly racist in its origins.(Reuters)
Youth employment
in the labor force has been in decline since 1979. (Jessica Dickler, cnbc.com)
Zelensky
received cold hard cash from the American government. And he will probably accumulate more of the American Taxpayers’ moneys if congress has its way. The former comedian and actor, now president of the Ukraine, received $14 billion from the American government. Most is cash to support Zelensky’s government, not humanitarian assistance. (Mini Racker, time.com)
Why would a retired educator write or even care about America’s 21st century axioms? Every single A-Z directly contributes to the decline of our educational system. How you ask? Actually if you are dumbfounded over the correlation between the above and our educational system’s decline, I’m not sure I will ever change your opinion. Having said that, tune in for my next blog! Perspective is everything and there are solutions.
Viable answers for the betterment of our public schools’ admin, teachers and students as published in Rescue the Teacher, Save the Child!
